Structural analysis
Strictly speaking, structural analysis concerns only the calculations of the structure of an aircraft, fixed or rotary wing.
But to proceed to these calculations, one has to get a precise idea of the loads stressing the structure, so Protoplane makes also aerodynamic calculation, flight tests program and analysis.
On large and long time projects like designing a Boeing 787 or a Rafale fighter, trials and error, laboratory and wind tunnels are taken into account.
In the case of aircraft modification by another company than the type certificate holder, that knowledge must be replaced by bibliography and statistical models.
